OVERVIEW
Our Surf School in Azurara is based right on the beach, we have lessons all year-round for all levels for adults and kids above 7 years old. Probably the best surf spot north of Porto with consistent swell and a clean beach, Azurara is a small beach of Vila do Conde and is close to Póvoa de Varzim & Porto, and easy access from Braga, Famalicão and Guimarães.
Our surf school is certified by the Portuguese Surfing Federation (FPS). Apart from surf lessons, you can also rent surf gear including hard boards, or try stand Up Paddle boarding on the river or ocean.
HIGHLIGHTS
Surf Spot
We are based at the beach of Azurara, in our opinion the best surf spot in the North of Portugal. Azurara is a protected beach with a long pier in the North which makes it a great surfing spot in most conditions all year-round. The beach is in a natural reserve with sand dunes and clean water (avoid the polluted beach of Matosinhos in Porto).
Surf and SUP Gear
We have surf lessons for all levels, beginner to advanced and have therefore the right gear for all levels. As a beginner you will start with foam soft boards, ideal to start surfing your first waves, as your level improves you will be able to try hard top boards as well as smaller boards. You can also rent surf or SUP gear if you feel you don´t need a lesson.
Stand Up Paddle Boarding
Stand Up Paddle (or SUP) is a great way to have a first contact with water sports, it is not as physical as surfing and is accessible to everyone. Our SUP tour will make you discover beautiful landscapes during a relaxed and low intensity sport activity on the river and ocean depending on the conditions. Kids can start as young as 9 years old.

FIND US AT AZURARA BEACH
At Azurara beach you will find us towards the long pier made of rocks (on the right when you look at the ocean), we are by the event venue called “Set Lounge” which has some palm trees and a big white tent.
